Name:  Deidre N. Estes

Length of employment at GEHA:  7 years and climbing

Job Title & Responsibilities:  Provider Relations Data Technician – I maintain physician data files, such as location additions, terminations or changes, updates to provider fee schedules and tax IDs. I ensure that the FACETS database is current and accurate so we can continue meeting a 10-day turnaround time.

What you like most about your job:  A lot of the work that I do as a data technician is alike, but at the same time, I have situations that I have to handle differently. I like the variety and challenges that I face. It keeps me on point.

About your family:  I am a single widowed mother with two growing teenage daughters. I try to be the best role model for them at all times; that’s important to me. Right now, we are exploring all the issues the life of a teenager brings – the good and not so good. Our family goals for the new year are to better plan for our future and to save more money by budgeting better.

Future plans:  I’m working toward more success in my job by taking computer courses to upgrade my skills and to gain experience in all areas of the business.

Favorite pastime:  During any free time I have, you will find me scrap-booking, line dancing, cooking, watching football games or on the computer. I also enjoy shopping, skating, watching movies and traveling. More than anything, I love spending quality time with my family and friends.
